PM Sessions

1.20 Thinking differently
Thinking differently gave birth to the NHS nearly 60 years ago. In every era since, those who have cared passionately for the ideals of the NHS have seen the need to think differently to meet the challenges of an ever-changing environment. Today is no different.
Dr Lynne Maher RGN BSc Hons MBA D. Prof - Head of Innovation Practice, NHS Institute for Innovation & Improvement

1.55 Do you know what your patients' experience is of the service you provide?
The ebd approach is about designing healthcare services that deliver a better experience for both patients and staff. The core of the approach involves helping people (patients, carers and staff) tell the story of their own experiences, in their own way. It’s through these stories that we can begin to understand not just the care journey, but the emotional journey people experience when they come into contact with a particular pathway or part of the healthcare service. Through capturing and understanding real experience, you can identify how your service can be transformed to improve patient experience.
Dr Lynne Maher RGN BSc Hons MBA D. Prof - Head of Innovation Practice, NHS Institute for Innovation & Improvement
